Camino Portugues

June 2020

The previous blog mentioned that I intended to walk more Camino trails this year, my next endeavour being the Coastal Camino from Porto to Santiago, a distance of around 175 miles. The Corona virus would seem to have put paid to that as well as the many other things we all had planned to do in our lives this year. But..........

....... things are opening up and it might just be possible. My flight out on July 4th was cancelled but I found another one operated by 'Wizz Air' I imagine a plane with a propeller and a rubber band. The flight back has also been cancelled so even if it was possible to get to Santiago I could be there for some time.

Spain is currently scheduled to open its land border with Portugal on July 1st but may delay it. The open border policy may not apply to UK citizens. Not all accommodation will be open for business. So a lot of obstacles and imponderables - only a fool would go under these circumstances.

Do you know anyone like that?

Thank you all for your responses -  I truly appreciate your concerns and overwhelming advice not to go at this time. However, common sense has rarely prevailed over stubborn determination in my case, so if Wizz Air can get the propeller going I will be too.

Ultreia!!
